Seeking Fosters, Sponsors, and Love!

As we continue to grow, we will need things to help keep us healthy and active!  We first would like to start getting foster homes lined up for us in the San Francisco area so that we can prepare to begin our journey to forever families!  Of course we are still young, but we would like to have fosters ready for us when the time comes!!! My name is Serenity!  I am the momma dog who was rescued from the Devore Shelter along with my six babies!  I am looking for a foster family to give me a temporary place to stay while my rescuers prepare me for adoption!  I will need a new foster home at the beginning of the New Year... as will my puppies!  Please consider fostering me... Also, if you choose to foster one of us, and you fall in love with us... well, you will have the first choice at adopting us as well!  Thank you!!!

Our first morning at our foster home!

Here's a short update... we like it here!  But we know our stay is temporary... so if you could please put the word out that me and my six adorable babies will be looking for foster homes in January, we would greatly appreciate it!  We are all doing very well!  My puppies are growing and getting cuter every passing moment that goes by.  I cannot thank my rescuers and foster family enough for saving us!  Check out our pictures from San Francisco!  If you are able to help us in anyway, please email the rescue responsible for our care at pittiesandkittiesinc@gmail.com thank you!

Here are pics of my puppies!!! These are their very first individual photographs!

This is baby Sadie!  Isn't she just the cutest little fireball of fur?  She has two siblings who look alot like her!

My little Shawna is full of yelps and whistles!  She's a uniquely colored baby who will certainly be a beautiful girl!

My Sahara is a handful!  She is a cry baby!  But isn't she a doll?  She's super cuddly and sweet too!

This little boy will soon be the man of the house!  Shamrock is very similar in markings to his sister Sadie, they're my twins!

Here is my little love bug Sophie!  She is an abolute sweetie pie, and she already has a mean streak on her nose... I'll be sure to keep her in line though!

Sidney is a stunning girl!  She's absolutely the most distinguished puppy out of the litter.  She's got the face of a heart breaker!

And of course there is me!  Everyone here loves me... they tell me that Serenity is a beautiful name... I hope so since I was named after The Serenity Prayer!

Just arrived!

Here we are... all warm and cozy in our foster home from a long car ride!!!  This is such a better place to be as opposed to a shelter!

There is one boy in the litter... the humans named him Shamrock!  The others were given the names of Sadie, Shawna, Sahara, Sidney and Sophie.

I think I like this place!  Check out my awesome bedding!  Yeah this is definitely a better place to be for me and my babies!

And with that, I shall call it a goodnight!

Our first road trip!

The time has come for us to leave!!! We are heading on our first road trip to a place known as San Francisco.  They have started calling us "The San Francisco Seven"... Humans have such a strange way of doing things.  The people who came for me and my babies hugged me and loved me and gave me and the pups such wonderful care along the way...

First, they put my babies in a nice comfy bed to start our journey to a new life...

I got to ride with them of course!

My babies squirmed around a little during the trip, but I made sure to keep them in line like any good mother would do...

Car trips are not to fun when the road is a long journey though...

We made many stops along the way... I was a little unsure about leaving my pups in the car when I was let out to go potty, but the people driving us seemed to be ok... I was always on alert and watchful... and at times I fed my babies...

After such a long ride, my pups were really tired!!!

We made it to our foster home and even though it was a long ride, it was well worth it! And that's the end of our road trip to San Francisco!

Our time at the Shelter...

While we were in the Devore Shelter, we didn't have the best life.  I had my one week old puppies in a large swimming pool, and I kept them as happy and warm as possible.  People walked by me in strange uniforms and cleaned out our kennels from time to time.  It's pretty horrific to be a momma dog with babies in a loud noisy cage.

I made sure to give kisses to all those passing by... I had hopes that our rescue would come so that I could leave this place they call the Devore Death Camp along with my babies.  There are so many dogs there and so many smells that are not so friendly.  I was very scared to see the dogs taking the walk and never returning.  That is a road I did not want to go down.  So I continued charming those passing by, and it is so hard to impress people when you've got six puppies to take care of!  Finally, when my time was almost up, someone came to save us!  A rescue had came through...

When I first left my kennel I was so terrified I peed on the floor... I am actually quite embarrassed by it.  My rescue crew did not seem to mind that I was afraid, which made me feel better.  I was concerned that my babies weren't taken out with me, but I heard the humans saying that they were getting pulled with me.  I did not really understand that word, but I'm assuming that meant we were being saved!

On my way out of the shelter, they told us we had to go to another boarding place.  The ladies who saved me loved and hugged us all and told me it would all be ok.  We went to a vet clinic from the shelter and spent the night there.  It was alot nicer of a place but it still was not a home.  I just don't understand what I did to ever end up in a place such as a shelter. 

The people at the General Dog and Cat Hospital place were very kind to us.  They gave us a warm comfy area to sleep in and the night was long, but much less noisy compared to the other place... I can only hope for a brighter future than this... more to come soon!

"The San Francisco Seven" were all rescued from the Devore Shelter by Pitties and Kitties, Inc. based out of San, Diego, CA on 11/15/2012! 

Serenity was in the shelter under ID# A544104. She and her 6 puppies were very close to being euthanized and several members of our rescue crew along with the Devore Rescue Teams were out to save them!!!

After they were pulled to safety, they were then transported to General Dog and Cat Hospital for boarding and began their trip to San Francisco to their foster home on 11/16/2012!
